I GET STUFF FOR DOING STUFF
I've done a lot of activities, and through the years, I've been lucky enough to be recognized for some of my work. Here's a list of the awards I've gotten, along with some pictures, cause who doesn't love those? By the way, these are listed in roughly reverse chronological order, for my sake and yours.
Departmental Distinctions (July, 2024)- At the end of my junior year of high school, I received an academic distinction in science which was given to me by the school.
AP Exam Scores (July, 2024)- Despite only taking 1 AP class this year, I took 2 AP exams. On the AP English Language exam, I got a 5, after a lot of preparation intersecting with my SAT prep. In AP Calculus BC, I got a 4, and while I was hoping for a 5, a 4 gives me room for improvement
Harvard Book Award (June, 2024)- I got the Harvard Book Award at the end of my junior year of high school for academic and extracirricular achievement. I and one other junior in my class got this award, and she happened to by my friend, so that was neat.
SAT Score (May, 2024)- Like all juniors, I took the SAT. It was a lot of work to study and prepare for the exam. However, taking practice tests and Khan Academy sets for months allowed me to get a 1550 of the May SAT on the first try.
Cum Laude Induction (May, 2024)- I was inducted into the Cum Laude Society, a national honors society, for having a high GPA and being selected among ten other students because of my interscholastic achievements and course rigor.
Boys Varsity Tennis Coaches Award (May, 2024)- This award was given by my Varsity tennis coaches for being a hard worker and a good teammate during the tennis season, both values which I hold to the highest degree.
Boys J.V. B Basketball Standout Award (March, 2024)- This award was given to me because of my improvement throughout the basketball season. It was my first season playing basketball, so hearing that was really impactful to me.
Departmental Distinctions (July, 2023)- At the end of my sophomore year of high school, I received academic distinctions in performing arts and science which were given to me by the school.
Boys J.V. Tennis MVP Award (May, 2023)- This was actually my second time recieving this award, but I got it for being the number 1 spot on the junior varsity tennis team for almost the entire year.
Departmental Distinctions (July, 2022)- At the end of my freshman year of high school, I received academic distinctions in math and science which were given to me by the school.
Boys J.V. Tennis MVP Award (May, 2022)- Much like the next year, I got this award at the end of my freshman tennis season for being the number 1 player on the J.V. tennis team.
Math Kangaroo National Ranking (March, 2021)- During my 8th grade year, I took the Math Kangaroo competition test and managed to get a Top 20 score in the entire country, one of the biggest achievements of my entire life.
Mathnasium Trimathalon (February, 2018)- One of the first math competitions I had ever done was one at my local Mathnasium in my 5th grade year and I managed to get first place, which definitely gave me the confidence to continue in these competitions.
Baseball Little League Graduation (May, 2019)- One of the things my town does is give recognition to any kids who played Little League Baseball for all available years, giving them a trophy and sending them off to the next level, Babe Ruth Baseball.
Baseball Little League Championship (April, 2019)- Baseball has always been a massive part of my life, and my team managed to win the championship in my last year of little league baseball. One could call it destiny, or pure dumb luck.
