After four years at my high school, Pingree School, I decided to commit the University of Virginia A-School. While I committed for architecture, I also want to double major in computer science, with maybe a minor in business or English. I made my decision based of a few factors. Obviously, UVA is a very academically rigorous school, which is what I wanted out of my college experience. However, UVA is also known as a work-hard play-hard school, which is something else I definitely wanted. I grew up in a relatively small town, went to very small schools, and wanted the big school experience. Still, while UVA is over 17,000 students, the A-School itself is around 500, making that transition a little bit easier because it's like I have a small school, but a big community. UVA also is very open to double majors, which a disappointingly few amount of the colleges I applied to have as an option. I'm excited to continue my academic career here for then next four years, and if anything I said resonated with you as something you've experienced, UVA might be the place for you too. I've recently finished my first semester, which went by incredibly quickly, and am now looking onto the spring.
